I've had a condenser mic for two years which I haven't used cos I didn't have phantom power - what's the very least I need to get it to work?

Most likely all you need is a pre or small mixer with phantom power.

Now the barrage of questions:

It really depends. What do you have?
What type of microphone is it? What type of mixer? What type of audio interface?

What do you want to do recording wise? Do you intend on doing anything else besides using this microphone?

So you need everything. What about the Makie Onxy you were looking at a month ago? And Pro Tools? That would work for you. If you really want to record, then following that advice would be a good place to start.

Seems silly to rehash all that information again.

Do we really need one more "what do I need to buy to get started" thread?
