I've just seen this recently. I too wondered about the unit. I have seen some early Alesis mixers taken apart and I was appalled at the poor construction of the units. They used pots that were simply deposited on the circuit board, which a lot of manufactures use, but there was no complete dust/hum shield around the pots so dirt and dust could get in and make the unit malfunction very quickly. Lets hope that Alesis learned their lesson and this one is made better. I believe there are a couple of reviews on line about the unit.

Thanks for the info Thomas. I've got to keep this in mind as I'm based in India where the environment is pretty dusty. I will definitely keep this in mind. I have come across few of the reviews but none of them have been posts by users of the unit. Am still looking!
