What's good everybody? I've got the latest version of Logic platinum on PC but unfortunately wasn't able to get the EVOC20 before they stopped producing it for PC. I've got a few productions in progress and need a good vocoder plug, purchase or free/shareware.

Want a good clean, distinct sound if that makes sense. Thanks for all input.

yeah, i am a die hart logic user... the orange vocoder sounds damn fine to me, i like it a lot, because it has lots of parameters to change including it's own mini EQ and a filter section, and is automatible under logic... (the VST is! i am still running mostly OS9 don't know about an AU version yet!, do you use PC or MAC??) just check out the prosoniq website http://www.prosoniq… and have fun using it!!!

Yeah I'm stuck on Logic! Everything I've done on Logic I love and the client was more than happy with it. I've read all the different comments about the variances in the way sofwares mixdown the audio and listening to what we've done it sounds really good. Our monitoring system may not be the greatest, Alesis MK1 powered the first generation, but I know them.

Yeah can't wait to get to MAC now. More power, plugs, MORE LOGIC! If I could do it now I'd have the EVOC20 to mess with. I'm prayerful now.

I'm going to download the demos of both of these recommended plugs. I like the price of the last one. It could be a diamond in the rough we'll see.

BTW Axel, are you using the latest version of logic on MAC and what kind of interface? We have the MOTU 2408MK3 and are looking at the MotHD192 when we upgrade.

hi amg1, noop you will be laughing, i use mostly a really, really old version... 4.8.1 i have 6.4 under osx also, but experienced unstability... and 7 is slugish on my g4 466, (with 4.8.1 i can run tons of plugs without hussle as well, just did a 24 track, comps, eqs, etc, etc, 4 reverbs full 8 buses and 7 synth plugs, not a cough :-)) and it's only a 466, that's to MAC!!!)
i really don't care i can create and record any music i want to, i did not had any problems yet, i actually swapped back to a lot of older versions when it comes to software... like peak 2.63 is IMO the best cause it's the only stable one, peak is really great i love it, but the newer versions suck for their buggyness...
we will see what happens with vers. 5

in terms of interface i use an motu 828 but tempted to go fireface 800
have heard it and the ad/da's are prestine and the pre-amps rock too.

i am also using a M-audio 2496 for mixdowns, cause it gives me a good, picture for "translating" mixes... (the combination makes it!!)

i am not really a newest gear fanatic, that said i can use a lot of high (highest) end gear in studios i work in, i usually stick to what works for me, and is STABLE (an important factor! to me) and gets the job done, without technical issues and hussle...
cheers

Ya know Axel, I don't knock Logic in any of it's versions. I started out In Logic Gold, the version that came bundled with the EXS sampler, then graduated to where I am today. That's good 411 about getting a healthy MAC to run Logic 7. I'm going after the dual processor so I should be good. I keep hearing good things about the Fireface (converters), I've just been blessed with my Motu and figured the HD192 would take my conversion up to a point that will keep us happy for good while.

For mixdown we're looking at adding an API summing setup into a Alesis Masterlink. Simple with good conversion and an analog HIT!
