Here are some of the stuff I want to buy to update my current computer, does it cut the "Best bang for buck"?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADA5200CSBOX - Retail $129.99
A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model ADQVE1A16K - Retail $85.99
3D Fuzion 3DFR55256P GeForce FX 5500 256MB DDR PCI Video Card - Retail $64.99
GIGABYTE GA-M61P-S3 Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $79.99

Total = approx $380

I basically already have a monitor, mouse, speakers, computer case with a very good power supply, dvdr all that junk, also have 1 gig ram and an agp video card :( that's a problem.. for now I will have to buy a new vid card, but its all good I guess. My Radeon 9800 pro is quite old anyways. Anyways, this computer is meant to record rather than game or anything else. I have a KB37 and I want to use its MIDI capabilities and with my current computer it just won't cut it. So my question would be, is this computer the best I could get for my $380 bucks? Thanks for your time dudes! :D

Well, I think you're a maniac?? Oh! You are a maniac! So that's OK!

I think foreign audio oriented computer, you have a killer machine! You really don't need to upgrade your video card. Besides, you have 2 video cards listed and since you're not gaming, sophisticated expensive video cards are not a necessity.

Unfortunately, you mentioned nothing about a quality sound card? A quality sound card whether it is a PCI card for a desktop machine, a USB or FireWire audio interface, is still necessary to make your killer computer a killer DAW. So, DUH? Or is that Doh? Whatever Homer Simpson says? So be prepared to spend between 300 to $1500 for a quality audio interface and software bundle (which may not be necessary if you already have Adobe Addition). In and above the cost of the computer.

I guess you will have to start saving your birthday money and the money from your paper route to afford all of this? Maybe the tooth fairy will bring you something nice?

Sorry I am not a fairy but a part-time lesbian, so I can't help you.

Ah! Nice. I didnt consider the audio card now that the motherboard has one included there, and I already have a Line 6 Kb37 and a hella lot of appz (Sonar 6 with a lot of VST plugins) so I dont think I will be spending those extra $1500. I already have my MIDI controller, and many pre-amps for mics, guitars and bass. hehe so watcha think now? I mean... this computer is not intended for a profesional studio, its just for home. Is it good?
