Depends on what you are using them for. Its kind of like a "which mic is better" question.

Try each and see what works best for what you are doing.

:) Hey dab! I don't know the NPP, but there is a lot of flexibility in the DDP. I like a couple of the presets that mildly compress, limit, and have a long release with a gate too!

This is great for getting a few extra db to track(s), and the gate keeps things pretty clean in between. I do stereo tracks mostly, with whatever effect(s) I'm using at the time. But when mixing, everything falls together so nice, I don't have to mess with much. It is part of my tracking chain. Lot's of keyboard tracks. Some solo guitar etc. But, as the others said find what works for you, experiment. Didn't mean to sound biased. BTW, the DDP is software, processed in digital, even though it is outboard rack gear.

Thanks guys , I'll take some time and do an A/B comparison between the two. All in all , I think I like the best of both worlds.
