Science will always prevail over superstition and misinformation.
Unfortunately there will always be people who want to "believe" what they want to "believe"
And as long as that doesn't hurt or cause harm to someone else in that process, then they should have every right to do so!

Everybody thinks I'm nuts when I say things like this also. There is always the question of when good is good enough. The way some people go on about audio equipment always leads me to believe they must have late-model Ferrari's & Lamborghinis in their garages downtown. I mean maybe that's me also since I'm a bit of a snob regarding the gear I have and/or have used. Compared to the reel to reel masters, I never found any vinyl much less any cassette that ever came close to sounding like the original master. Well that whole situation has changed and blurred with our foray into the land of digital. There is a substantially better and different digital system that is still not quite ready for prime time as our computers are still not quite up to the task. And we all don't have the largest displacement engine in our personal vehicles which still seems to get us where we need to go. I know what I know and I know what I hear. I come from a heavy advertising background as well. There is however no doubt to myself that PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) recordings will always sound like PCM recordings. This article did not really go on to elaborate on the differences between PCM & DSD (Direct Stream Digital). But otherwise, yeah, 16 bit 44.1 kHz works up at the performance capability of most average playback systems. Rich guys can have whatever they want. Everybody else will settle for entertainment value over technical prowess.

16 bit 44.1 kHz and proud of it. Okay so I let the HD 24 XR roll at 24-bit most of the time. But not always.
