I'm on a live project that came in on DAT. And my low hour SV-3800 seems to need its first cleaning. A light on the display occasionally flashes "cleaning". I've nevr had to clean it before. Any guidelines I need to follow, I've never done it on a DAT before. What is the procedure? Thanks

Thanks Fletcher, those folks were very helpful, even offering enough advice that I was able to take care of the problem myself, after a little guidance. The key is removing the loading tray, then you get VERY easy access to cleaning everything in the tape path. My estimate was a little low on the machine's hours (300 instead of 50). I was amazed at the amount of gunk that had built up on the capstain over that time. It was ugly, but now it's nice and clean and working marvelously.
