I just got a PreSonus FireStudio. Im trying to use it with Logic Pro 8. I found where you set what your using for input in Logic. I have the newest drivers installed and the newest firmware.

Basically I've just never used this and don't know where to start! I've played with it for a while now. All i have to test with right now is a mic, because my bands stuff isn't at my house. (I'm a drummer)

So does anyone wanna teach me? :)

teach you what? you've found out how to set your interface in logic. now read the manual. there's everything you need to know, which is quite a lot.

if you have a specific question, ask. maybe i can help you since i'm using logic. but to teach you the program in general would be impossible.

Go through the "Getting Started" manual for Logic 8, it's very easy to understand in an almost step-by-step fashion. If you just have a little patience and spend some time with it, you'll be up and running in no time.

It's certainly much less daunting than the 1100 page users manual.

Good luck.

Hi another newb here.

I too have a FireStudio Mobile and Logic Pro 8

I also have a Tascam FW1082 which I really like, but at the moment I don't have space for, hence the FireStudio Mobile.

My question is this. Can I change the Firestudio mobile so that the headphones are Output 1-2? Should I?

What I've done so far is:

1) in Logic set the output in the mixer on all the channel strips to 3-4
2) in the Universal Control app that came with the FSM I set to "Mix is currently bypassed. output phones is assigned to direct DAW return 3-4" (by clicking on the power button symbol of the phones tab under "output")

I'm not sure what is the best way to do what I want. What I want is this. For the headphones to be the main default monitor.

When I have the Phones set to "mixer" in the UC app I hear the raw output from the FSM and I hear the output from Logic with some delay.

Thanks for your help. I wish I could just go back to my FW1082, but that isn't an option for a while. (the FSM does seem to be a nice piece of kit though)

Do I change Logic or do I change the FSM?
