I've just upgraded to Tiger (Not sure if that's related) and I now get this error when I load up any of my Pro Tools sessions. I havn't changed anything else...still the same setup as I've had for a year now.

I'm getting this error: audio files are on volumes unsuitable for playback

this is my setup:

Mac G4 400MHz
Digi 002 (desk)
Pro Tools 6.9
2 internal hard drives
* 80gig HD with Tiger os10.4 system and all apps.
* 80gig HD is my Audio drive with all my Pro Tools sessions.

So i'm gathering thatis not recognising my Audio drive as a suitable drive for Pro Tools . even know it's always worked.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Chris

Here is some usfull info: (doesn't work for me asi'm on PT LE- looks like i'm back to Panther for now)

From the digidesign website:

Digidesign® Pro Tools® TDM 6.9.2 software brings support for Mac OS X 10.4 (“Tiger”) to Pro Tools|HD® systems. Now customers who purchase Macintosh computers shipping with Mac OS X 10.4 installed and those who want to upgrade existing Power Macs to OS X 10.4 can enjoy full compatibility with Pro Tools|HD systems.

Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2 software also includes firmware updates for ICON D-Control™ and D-Command™ worksurfaces.

Update Today
Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2 software is available as a free download for qualified users. Updater CDs will be available soon through DigiStore for $4.95 plus shipping and handling.

Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Accel customers running Pro Tools software versions older than Pro Tools TDM 6.4 can purchase upgrades to Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2. Paid upgrade CDs will be available from local Digidesign dealers or through DigiStore.

More to Come
Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2 software is for Pro Tools|HD systems only. Future Pro Tools software releases will support Pro Tools LE™ systems and Pro Tools M-Powered™ systems on Mac OS X 10.4.

Pro Tools TDM 6.9.2 software supports the Avid Mojo® interface on Mac OS X 10.4. However, the Avid Media Station|PT companion application is not yet compatible with Mac OS X 10.4. Avid Media Station|PT 1.6.1, which will be released soon along with Pro Tools TDM 6.9.1 software, will introduce Mac OS X support for Media Station|PT on Mac OS X 10.3.8. A future software release of Media Station|PT will add compatibility for Mac OS X 10.4.

U could try this too..

Hey there..
I had a similar problem where i could not record enable the tracks. It said 'Cannot designate volumes'. I fixed it by changing the volume properties in the workspace to record from playback for audio n' video.. Maybe urs is set to 'transfer' only..
Hope that helps..
