I bought the program and when I tried to install it is said Invalid serial number. This is new out of the box using the s/n it came with. I have emailed cakewalk and still no answer 2 days later. Is it possible I'm entering it wrong?

CWSP-7.00-123456-123456 (Not the actual S/N)

Thats how I'm entering it and shot down everytime. It's on xp home its been updated, and everything should work. I'm dumbfounded

I don't use Sonar but with some of my software there is a bit of a convoluted registration process. Create an account on the site, register serial number, retrieve activation code from email. That's not just one of the software that I use. This may not be the case with Sonar but I just thought I'd throw out that possibility.

It should just plug in and work. I have used Cakewalk products since they were only cupcakes ;)

The OS doesn't have any effect on if Sonar will accept the serial key or not. But there could be "things" outside of the software that hinder the process....things like I do not know what because it has never happened to me, but certainly with a new product right out of the box it is happening to you.

What did the guys at Sonar have to say?

You did not read his post.

They said that happens once in a blue moon. Numbers just dont match. I sent it back to them. Went to local Brick and Morter to try another one with the thought that if it didnt work I'd just take it back, but it worked.
