Just wondering if anyone knows the name of the company that offer to intergration between and SSL desk and pro tools. So that the faders will control the faders in pro tools.

I know it exists and its not the AWS-900 that I'm thinking of.

Thanks for the help

Cheers...

As far as I know, there is no company that provides what you describe. It would require interpreting the VCA values generated by the SSL, and then converting them to MIDI values for Protools. It would also have to somehow make the SSL faders read back those moves. No 3rd party company is doing that.

There is a company called JSK Engineering that makes an interface that allows SSL 4000 and 6000 series computers to control the Protools transport like any other tape machine, but it has nothing to do with the faders.

The AWS 900 has an integrated MIDI layer to the faders, which I believe is a new feature for SSL products, not seen before.

Most people that I know that want to mix in an SSL room, but still mix inside the box, use either a Command 8 or a Mackie Control alongside the SSL. Otherwise they mix on the console instead of ITB, and don't do a lot of moves on the Protools faders.
