I'm going to be moving to Boston for school soon, and planning on staying there afterwards. Can anyone tell me how the music scene is there, as far as the business side and job opportunities? Are there many labels based out of Boston? Or any other thing worth knowing or looking up? Is it a good place to be for this career? I'm born and raised a New Englander and I'd love to stay here forever, so I thought Boston would be my best bet. I figured I'd ask here, as many of you may have worked in this area. Anyway, dish out. Thank you. :D

I worked in Boston in the late '70's, early '80's. I loved my time there (also a native Yankee) but I was damned lucky to find the job I had. It's not a mecca like NYC, LA, or Nashville, where I landed (because it's affordable and people are friendly. Just ask all the people bailing out of NYC and LA to come here). Rounder is still the big fish in the pond if you're looking to work at a label.
