Hey guys,

I was wondering what the best program would be to use for recording a band track by track.

I have used:

`Acid 5.0
`Adobe Audtion

My computer specs are :

1gb of DDR Ram

2.5 ghz AMD Processor

Audiophelia 192 by M-Audio

- prices do not matter, just let me know what would be best for me to use, i want the best possible. thanks

That really depends on you in the long run.

One person will say Pro Tools, another will say Sonar, or Cubase or Nuendo etc etc etc.

Each one has it's own method of work flow that will suit each person differently.

Since you are using a sound card from M-Audio your choices are Sonar, Cubase, Samplitude or Nuendo.

I use Nuendo 3 and Cubase SX 3 and love the way they work. ASIO implementation is superb as well as VST implementation. You can offline process, bounce audio stems ridiculously fast, edit very intuitively and much much more.

Nuendo is more the video/post package whereas Cubase SX is the audio/midi package. Most likely Cubase will be the way to go.

Sonar has come along way from the Cakewalk days and has a growing fan base there as well. I haven't touched Sonar since it was first released so I can't say whether or not it would be good for you.

You may want to see if any one around you has these applications so you can see them first hand.

Again, each software package will have their own distinct work flow that will either work with you or make you really frustrated.

Either one will allow you to record individual tracks.
