I need to get a trigger for using on the kick drum. There are quite a few different types & brands to choose from. Are there any that are better than others?
I will be connecting it to an Alesis DM Pro (simular to the DM5).
Cost is not a priority, I want the best one available.

Most drum triggers are all the same. They are piezoelectric devices. You can actually go to Radio Shaft and purchased some inexpensive piezoelectric buzzers! Stick a couple of cables on them and a couple of connectors and voilà! Drum triggers. Buy them by the bag! They work great! They also make great acoustic guitar pickups.

I did that. I read on RO and many other sites that several guys use their mic's instead of triggers. I tried it and it makes my Alesis DM Pro re-trigger again and again. It sounds like total ass.
I want to trigger the kick for heavy music. But this whole triggering thing is taking alot of time to learn.
I was thinking of going ahead and buying some triggers and try it that way. But I really need someone who owns simular equipment to tell me what it going wrong and where.
