I tried creating my own drums with a midi keyboard, but that didn't work out for me...so it's back to Fruity Loops. Does anyone know of any good CD's and contain single drum hits? (Kick, Snare, Hats...etc). I want real drums, and I want to create something that sounds more human. I do an ok job with the samples in Fruity Loops, but I think it would be better with nicer samples. Oh...also I want heavy metal drums!

Ehhhhh. I've gathered my samples from around the net over a period of a couple years. I don't know of any CD's. I got a few good tom samples from the ddrum website because they had a database of midi stuff for their triggers. I just downloaded their midi software that sends it to their units and got the midi files and loaded them into the software and played them back and recorded them in software in wav format.

I also use fruity loops. http://www.myspace.com/alexknappenberger

Most loop CD's come with dry samples of the drums used. They are usually killer quality, and they sample the cymbals too.....which is awesome cuz the cymbals that come with FL suck. I have a Pro-Sessions disc that i got from GC for like $30. I only used one of the loops on it for some country chick, but now i use the samples almost every day.

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, Art, but Jay Walsh (at Farview Recording) has been working on the second volume of "Rock Drums" for Drumagog. No idea if you even use it, but geez... The stuff he does with that plug (and those sounds) is mind-bending.

He ran some of the samples over here a couple months ago for some tweaking. Really excellent stuff for the Metal Gods.
