I've just about had it with the issues between my FireStudio Project and Mac OS X Leopard so I've decided to sell it and buy MOTU. But before I do I was wondering what you guys think of MOTU and Leopard and if you've run into problems or just what you think of MOTU in general.

I'm leaning toward this particular MOTU model: http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/MOTU-8-Pre-Audio-Interface-?sku=240408

I like their stuff. I this could never get around the fact that they were so heavily ensconced in Macintosh? But I have a 2408 mkII. I've been very happy with it in spite of its peculiar GUI routing system. Mine is strictly line level inputs & outputs. Not sure what kind of microphone preamps you can expect for less than $100 each? You're certainly not taking a step up from what you had. And what kind of problems were you having it made you get so mad? What wasn't it doing right?

Their's a driver issue with the FireStudio Project (Lots of clicking and fuzz) and other PreSonus interfaces when used with Leopard and PreSonus's problem solving tips didn't work for me so I thought I might as well sell my FireStudio and take a loss rather than continually have to boot my laptop into Tiger to make my interface work

Heres a good thread where PreSonus says what might fix the issue: http://forums.presonus.com/showthread.php?t=5469

I have an ATI 1600XT I'm not sure if thats effecting it

Either way I feel like MOTU is what I should have purchased to begin with after reading positive feedback about MOTU products and Mac OS X

EDIT: Ultimately it just comes down to me not wanting to reset my NVRam and PRam periodically and fix my disk permissions every time something goes wrong. I just feel like its a lot to go through every time I want to record.
