THere's some trouble on the interface front for me, my ensemble is installed to the mac pro tower, it was relatively straight forward too. I've got the Apogee Maestro link on my desktop and as far as the 4 XLR inputs and the 2 jack DI's go it's great to work with, I haven't really looked far past those 6 inputs yet. The main problem I'm having right now is getting my 2'nd input converter, a http://www.Behringe… Behringer[/]="http://www.Behringe… Behringer[/] to connect to the apogee. I've connected them optically (optical output from the ensemble to ADAT input of the ultra gain pro 8 digital(Behringer ). Set the sync to ADAT out on the Behringer, and now I'm totally lost. The pro 8 is indicating that it's picking up a signal from any input's jack or XLR that I'm putting into it, I just cant get those signals to the Apogeeand in turn the mac. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or what I haven't done atall yet? I get a funny feeling that something in the mixer of the Apogeeis set incorectly or not set atall.

Do you have any idea where I'll find the interface section of pro tool's? I realise that I've most probably allready used this before, but I've used that many new things over the last 6-8 week's I honestly can't remember them all, or how to use them all? I've kept alot of notes and reminders, but there's so many now it's got to the point where on occasion I'm confusing myself????lol Thanks for the info there aswell.... much appreciated!

If they are not then you need to check the sync settings again on both the Behringer and the Ensemble. Some devices can only sync as a master device and some can be set as either master or slave/receive. I am rusty on the Behr converters and don't have time to look just at the moment.

Nope nope nope. Maestro Software is how the Ensemble works best. It is much like the old mbox in pro tools where it would take over the entire pro tools system.
Anyways, open maestro and take a look at Mixer A. These are your incoming inputs. 1-8 should be good ole 'analog' inputs from the ensemble itself. 1-4 mic level or line inputs and 5-8 line inputs. To the right to the right should be 1-8 optical inputs. These will be where the Behringer signals are being sent from the Ultragain.
So, you need to assign the I/O inside your Maestro to Optical 1-8.
Then we head over to the DAW!
Set up 1-8 analog Ensemble as your inputs 1-8 or A 1-A 8.
Then set up 8 more inputs B 1-B 8 or A 9- A 16.
*sidenote: These will be labeled with whatever name the Maestro mixer has given them. So it might be 1-8 optical or 9-16 ensemble etc etc...*
And you're done.
The whole maestro mixer thing really confuses people...or rather their lack of a comprehensive guide.
I am actually in the process of finding a conjunctive interface to use. Let me know how this goes!
Last thing: You might want to look into syncing the word clock of the Behringer with the word clock of the Ensemble. It will minimize...a lot of bad mojo.

I am not very familiar with the Ensemble, but most interface gui's allow an option for watching the inputs. If there is no level indication in the Ensemble gui then it is not sync'd with the Behr. As for adding those channels into your DAW, you will need to go into the interface section of PT and activate those inputs or rather in a Mac you will likely go into the Core Audio panel and make sure those inputs are aggregated there.
