Hi
I am using Audiophile Delta 2496 only which supports MIDI and Analog jacks.
How will be performance of USB interface when compared to MIDI and also in consideration of quality and effect wise. PLease help.
Can i plugin the USB cable from the XS to my system?. IN that case what will be the job of the 2496?.
I want to have a quality(Professional) recording in home(only keyboard track and bass & lead guitar). These tracks will be recorded in my home and will be given to studio for voice recording and mixing.
What software is recommended? (Cubase or Sonar or Neundo or Protools)
what connection is recommeneded from the XS to PC? (S/PDIF or USB or MIDI)
If i am connecting USB, do i need to change the sound card which supports USB port?
Also i got the DVD along with the instrument i.e Cubase AI 4. Can i staright away use that for recording or should i need to update to some version . what is the difference b/w the AI4 and Cubase Studio 4 or Cubase 4. Please help.
Please help, i am babe in the field of recording and to XS.

I believe you cannot get audio tracks into your computer via usb from the XS. However, I did just read the XS comes with firewire. You will have to refer to your owners manual on system requirements for your ieee 1394(firewire) to your computer.

You may need a new firewire card so you can utilize the power of it. Use the firewire connection if possible. If not, use the s/pdif which is digital straight to your 2496 card.

The M audio 2496 will be the way you get your audio into your machine, that is both 1/4" L+R input and S/PDIF. I am not familiar with the Motif xs, otherwise I would know exactly what the issue is.

To answer your question about connectivity:

1st choice - Firewire (this connection should be the only one needed for all data)

2dn- Usb + S/PDIF

3rd- Midi + S/PDIF

4th- Analog audio out> mixer> M audio 2496 + Usb or Midi
