I was just reading a post about a guy who was having trouble recording to instruments at the same time on different tracks. Generally i only record one instrument at a time but i would like to be able to record on two separate tracks simultaneously. I am running through a Mackie vlz 1202 (i also have a 1402 i can use) and then into a M-audio mobile pre. the program i use to record is called cool edit pro. i'm not sure if they even make that program anymore. Is anyone familiar enough wiht these things, cool edit pro in particular, thatt they know how to record instruments at the same time on separate tracks? help!

You know, you just kind of create 2 new tracks in your software and assign their inputs to the inputs in your mobile pre. One track to one input and the other track to the other input.
I think if you're gonna buy stuff like this, it is only fair that you RTFM (take a look at the manual/help files) so you get your money's worth.

BTW: I think the guy you read about was messing around with a Soundblaster card, which can be a pain for multitrack recording.
