I always position my nearfield monitor straight, without any angle, I now set up a 5.1 system but I would like keep on mixing stereo project on the same system. Now that my L & R are angle to satisfy the surround positionning, is it a problem to have it in angle instead of a staight facing position?

wow, 197 views and no replies. As long as you aren't getting any new reflections from opposing walls or surfaces I don't see why this is a problem.
On a related note, if you haven't already done so, sit in your mix/listen position and have a friend move a small mirror along the wall until you can see your monitors reflection in it. If there is no sound treatment there then you are getting some reflection off the wall (audio is just like light in this respect--reflections). Put Auralex there if it's not already. Do the same for both speakers, and do read up on their site if you haven't already.
