I have a chance to get this whole system for about a day or two worth of work cutting some trees down .. ( part time job) this gear was used by a marketing company for a 4 string quartette promotion venues, very clean rack mounted pcs.

in lue of cash he will give me the following ( outADATed ) gear

Lantek SM 450 4 CH mixer 3U
2 pcs Carver TL-33-- dual CD player
Furman 4X2 mixer MM8a
2 pcs ..Furman Para EQ PQ4
Yamaha SPX50D effects unit
dbx 166 (not sure if compressor or noise gate )
2 pcs QSC 1400
ASHLY crossover SC-22
Samson CHO Noise reduction
Furman EQ CG-15
Lantek Phono cross over
Aphex Aural Exicter
2-way JBL mid/hi and bass bins
4 AKG (i think) mics and stand
all cables

i looked up used prices on line and found most pcs go for about 100 bucks, except the QSC at 175,,

not sure on the speaker side of things or mics,,,

can't find info on the lantek gear

i understand that the 4 way mixers and some of gear is old and a 8 ch mixer will probably repalce it ..

soooo. is all this gear worth a couple days work?

appreciate the input

BTW i stumbled on this site for street prices of used studio gear

should i post it in the buy/sell section ?

thanx in advance

OK...First off, what would you charge this dude to do the work if he was paying cash? The QSC power amps are decent, Ashly crossovers are always a good product, the dbx 166 (a comp AND a gate) is certainly serviceable, the Carver CD player is very good, the SPX50 is probably worth $50-80.00, The Aphex-which model?- is probably not more than $75, the Furman stuff is mediocre ( I have had nothing but problems with their EQs, especially the parametrics, and their mixers are worse), Samson is worth $00.01, and God knows about the Lantek-no info there, either. Ditto for the mics, without odelS. AKG runs the gammit from great to junky...If the JBLs are in decent working shape, a couple of top boxes and a couple of bins (once again, the models?) might be worth $500.00...So what's your time worth to do this work? I'll be generous to the seller and say $1500.00...Are you bonded and insured? I personally would never risk swinging from a tree with chainsaw in hand, for maybe 16 hours of labor to aquire that rig...

hey Moonbaby, thnx for the input,,

well the job is an easy one, drop and drop trees, no real risk, and i do do this for part time living ,,,

he was quoted 1800 bucks from one guy,,

considering what i get paid as the laborer anyway, i'm ahead if this is just worth 500 bucks total for 2 days,,

i think the Aphex was the basic unit, and agree , depends on which mics and cabinets

i'll try to post more info

other then that , thnx for now , i'll tune in later for more feedback and hopefully more info on mics etc,,

thnx
