i know its a really dumb question but, is there a difference between digital coax and regular rca video cable? could i use video cable? my computer is going to be about 20' away from my digital converter and its going to cost me about 60$ jsut for a cable. if i could avoid this then its not all that bad but if i need it then ill just have to do it.

The key thing you are after is the cable impedance - you need 75 ohm which is the video standard. Not sure if that consumer video cable really is 75 ohm or not...
But, go for a cable with good connectors and excellent shielding. You might check the specs and try to find the lowest capacitance per foot, however , for a longish run.

Yup i'm afraid so. Digital signals are prone to RF interference just like anything else. Poorly made cable (The stuff you generally get for video cables) at that length will probably cause you loads of difficulties. Try it. 20' of cheap coax with a couple of connectors won't cost you a great deal and you can always use it for your TV if it doesn;t work.
