Hey folks,
I've been recording on a T1 Bose interface device (that came off my tower), but since it was designed to record live performances there is a TON of capability issues. Although most of my music money comes from shows (and recordings turn little to no profit), I reluctantly forked up the initial cost to boost my setup and ordered a Tascam US 122. I've have a few questions for anyone that might own or has owned one.
1. Does it have the ability to record multiple tracks simultaneously (Guitar + vocals) or will I have to record one track at a time (still a step up from my Bose either way).
2. Will it sound better/best in Adobe Audition, Sony ACID, or a different piece of software?
3. What kind of latency issues can I expect and how can they be resolved?

I've been noodling with a Tascam 122 for about two years now, and I love everything about it.
1. There are separate right and left XLR/line in channels. I use it with Sony ACID and set up two tracks and arm them both. I right click and go to the properties where I change the input on one of them to "left" and the other to "right" and play whatever I want into the tracks (I usually do this for drums and when I record vox/acoustic at the same time). So yes, it does have the capability to do so if your DAW can split the tracks.
2. I use ACID, and haven't tried much else.
3. Funny question... on my desktop, it has minimal, but very noticeable latency. On my laptop (about 1.5 years newer), there's no latency issues whatsoever, so I can't make the decision for you.
