I just got an email from UA. I don't think they intended it to be shared with everyone otherwise there would have been a weblink. I just wanted to share the gist of the email. Essentially they were letting UAD-1 and UAD-1e users know that as of the next update to UAD drivers, the UAD-1 and UAD-1e cards will no longer be supported. Nice though that they are offering a generous trade in option.

We've known about the UAD-1 cards going out for a long time now. This has been in sight for at least two years now. What is admirable is that they've filled us in along the way. They told us that they were phasing out the UAD-1 well ahead of time, they blew out those old cards at an incredible price and now they are taking those cards back at a higher value than they blew them out for.

Is this a mistake? Are they taking a loss? Of course not! They are investing in their future. They are ensuring that not only we are inclined to purchase their new releases but that we are able to run them on the newer platform.

The older UAD-1 cards will continue to work of course as long as Windows/OSX supports them.

How can you not appreciate a company that is willing to not only keep their customers informed but to invest in them? To give them incentive to purchase and continue purchasing their product.

Thanks to you Bill Putnam Jr. And, thanks to your team.

You guys ROCK!

I wish some other companies would consider your business ethic. No names need be mentioned.
