Console Under $15k?
Forums
O.K., so I got my MCI 2"24trk, a Pro Tools rig, about 15 or so good mics, a decent selection of outboard gear and preamps, and the last thing I need to open my place up is the console to run it all through. In keeping with my desire to run a functional mid-level studio, I've been looking at some MCI, Neotek, Amek, and Harrison consoles.

non hernia analog 2 track for classical?/my DSD experien
Forums
Hi everyone,
So does anyone have any suggestions about a non-hernia, bad ass, two track reel-to-reel for less (hopefully way less) than $14k? I was wondering what people used to use back in the day for stereo Classical recording in the field (in the days before dat)... I already have two channels of dolby SR lying around the house...

Welcome aboard John! Cubase is one of the major system out there. I've been thinking of buying it. The three systems that I think are worth checking out are Logic, DP and Cubase.
Looking forward to reading about Cubase from you and our members.

First mic preamp
Forums
I currently do not have a good mic preamp. I was wanting some ideas on what to get started with for around $1500. The only thing I've found so far is a Manley mono unit for around $1300. What is thought about this unit? What would be better. Keep in mind that whatever I get will be my "go to" box for a few months at least. I am looking to send Snare, Acc Guitar, and vocals through it.

what if you were starting a new 'bottom feeder with pot
Forums
Okay. So you've had 3-5 years of making records out of your basement, apartment, & rehearsal spaces around town. You feel like you're actually able to hear the changes you make, and the tracks are starting to translate to other systems well (without major EQ changes in mastering). Your monitoring chain, mics and pre's are at or above most of the smaller studios around town.
MIDI Bank Changes, Solved!
Forums
Hey, I just posted this question yesterday, and got no response, so I had to figure it out myself. I did this, however, so I can maybe help others out here.

Sound Module Effects on/off
Forums
Hey, I recently got ahold of an old Korg AG-10 sound module. It's the first time I've used a separate sound module, and I have no manuals, so after finally getting it to integrate with my sequencer. well, here's my question.
