Hello, I’m beginning my personal little crusade in the Ribbon Mic arena.

To start, I’ve created an Instructable, to upgrade an MXL 990 condenser mic with a ribbon element from http://www.diyribbonmic.com/parts

I created some 3D printed parts to hold the ribbon element and transformer.

Hey everyone! Where could I figure out the equipment used in certain popular recordings topping the charts right now, without having to contact the label and finding the engineers/producers that worked on that particular project, etc.

Why are all of the Ozone 6 presets so aimed towards fixing eq and imaging and not at all geared towards getting decent Compression and or volume. Of course you gotta add a little air or shine to a finished mix but most of the work should be done in compression and limiting.

Ok, so I just went out and purchased my first Preamp. I've always milked everything out of the pretty decent preamp built into my 18i20 Focusrite audio interface, but I realized it was time for something new.

This is a cool video that probably only engineers, producers and musicians would find interesting, as it acts as a sort of "fly on the wall" as to how records were once made...

This is a new way of recording at least for me so I’m just putting this question out there and hope someone can give me feedback, point me in the right direction or has experience doing this.
