Mix to Master? Stems are us. Maybe.

Yesterday morning on the Acoustica Mixcraft forums there was a flurry of spambot posts, with randomly generated titles. I immediately challenged myself to write a song based on one of the thread titles, "September and, hopefully..." After a hasty write, demo build, "better-writing-through-demoing" session, mix, remix, etc...well, after about 30 hours of work, I popped this out:

I Think I'm Hybrid

I've noticed since acquiring my new gear that I always wanted the option to record, mix AND master. I never gave much though to the idea of it being a hybrid concept or not. I never wanted to pin myself into doing only one of the options even though most of my time may go into it. I don't want to be limited in mastering, say, to a two channel DA/AD interface.

Beginner Recording Setup

Hello all,
I am looking to enter the world of audio recordings: specifically, recording band/orchestral instruments either in an actual group or just as a solo. What is a good stereo matched pair of microphones that aren't expensive?
I am also looking for a reasonable two to eight channel interface.
Thank you for your replies!
