High-end AD-DA converters
Forums
I am looking at replacing my AD/DA converters box in my studio. I have read that EMM labs are the best per there web site.I have also looked at DAD and threads from various people state that the 32 track model.
Then there are people who swear about Prism converters. I am looking for converters that are 100 percent transparent without modifying the sound in any respect.

we did our first go at it .
Lots of learning curves, The outfit choices etc . but overall we had a blast .

bad noise in preamp ?
Forums
Hi All,
I have a PreSonus ADL 700 with a loud, white noise with crumpling paper in it when I
use the instrument input.
I have been using the mic input for guitar and bass since Ive had it, although if I tweak the EQs
more than 2oclock I can hear a hissing coming back in .
Anyone had this sort of problem ?

Alignment when Comping Vocals
Forums
Hey when comping vocals and there is a note that is a little late or a little early with respect to the beat, you want to shift that syllable so it's in line with the notes on the beat. I'm having trouble with this. Doing it by ear seems a little hit and miss. Is there a more scientific way to know if a particular vocal's syllable is aligned with a note on the beat?

Terry Fairfax 12 string arrangement
Forums
A HUGE thanks to Marco for helping me with the string arrangement on a song I'm working on for my friend and client, Terry Fairfax.
We've been having some trouble - not with the parts, but with the sounds of the samples.

I have three things to say, Oh MY GAWD!
http://www.bossus.com/products/sy-300/
They've finally done it, and the music world goes wild. My last foray into this world, and I still have the GK-3 on one of my guitars, was the Roland GR-55 which needs the special pickup.
What do you all think?.

Observations on 2 Bus Gain Reduction
Forums
Gain Reduction can change the tone of your tracks. Sometimes for the better, adding a certain vibe or pleasing character to them - some like to use a hint of it on the master bus for "glue"... and I don't see a problem with that - in small amounts, I think it an often be beneficial - but - it can also be detrimental, too.

With all my data being scattered around between phones and hard drives and aging formats, I've decided to consolidate all my data in form a more professional way to back up my documents and data.
