I have to rent some mics to mic up a drum kit. I would like 2 room mics, 2 overheads, 2 snare, 2 bass drum, tom and hat mics. I have an AT 4050 some 57's and a D112 already. I would love some recommendations on some mics I can rent to fufill my needs. Hopefully nothing to esoteric or hard to get as I have to find these hopefully fairly cheap. Opinions on Neumann km 184's or SM 81's?

I've been trying to get my audiophile working properly on my Anus Mk1 all day and the best I can get is 11ms, and it's still not 100% stable...I've tried loads of diff IRQs and settings and both win2k and XP and still can't get it stable below 11ms. Surely with a P4 1.8 @ 2.4 and 512MB cas 2-2-2 ram I should be able to run it at it's lowest latency?

Just wanted to inform you guys that there's an intriguing debate going on over at homerecording on the issue of the benefits of 24 bit recording after dithering to 16 bit for CD. Perhaps the discussion should be brought here?

I've been using Logic/Pro Tools in this particular incarnation, for two years.

I'm getting timing problems when sequencing a shaker in sixteenths.

on XP the madness begins..
