What formats do you guys mixdown to and why?
Is it DAT or CDR or tape or. .
Does anyone use an internal mixdown option i.e. audio export,if so what is the best dithering software?

Dithering
Today i mixed down a track recorded on Cubase vst32.
One mixdown was mastered internally using the Cubase internal dithering uv22(ie audio export)the other was mixed to a CDr digitally via spdif.

Trying to make a connection
I'm not sure but I think I've heard some things about this unit here, anyway, I was considering checking out the Entech 245.2 D/A converter box, however, it only works from a SPDIF or TOSLINK connection. So, I can’t quite figure out how to configure my system in finding the best way out of the box and into the Entech. My system is running at 96k from a MOTU 1296/Mac which only has AES dig.

system exclusive mesages MIDI
Could anyone please help me out.
How do you tell your sequencer program(I use cakewalk) to transmit system exclusive mesage
(for instance: change cutoff frequency) to your
midi synth.
(I've menaged to record this information from JX-8P to cakewalk and now It's saved in sysex wiew, but I don't know how to activate this thing back to the JX-8P.)

Fluid dynamic bearings = hot hot hot
i read in sound-on-sound the other day that the Maxtor Fluid dynamic bearing motors run hot and may require additional cooling. seeing how i just ordered and received two of these for my ANUS do i have reason to be concerned? has anybody else used Maxtor drives with this technology? the last thing i want is a hot ANUS. i've got a fairly large case coming for the build.
