Hi to all

Plugins are in their infancy. The pluginswe use today will on day be looked back on fondly as curios. The people who are developing them, currently, will eventually be seen as the pioneers of an entirely new method of processing audio.

These are the two eq pluginsI am reading good stuff about. Personally I am using the Pultec, but might be interested in the Sony if it was significantly better. Anybody have an opinion?

Hi, It's my first topic posting, please be merciful. :)
I just got a Tascam DM-24. Wonderful! Replaced a Mackie 8-bus 24ch... a great board, too.
I use Sonar (2.0 XL), and I absolutely cannot get it to react to the MMC from the transport buttons on the DM-24. Anyone have any luck with this combo?

whenever i record midi (or I am playing midi) in Sonar xl 1.3.1 i get a beeping sound sometimes and then the audio drops. Anyone know how to get rid of this beeping noise?

I had the pleasure of getting some mixing tips from a gentlemen nominated for a Grammy this year who recorded/mixed/mastered the nominated record all in Pro Tools. He offered to Master our album.

Assumed that i compose and produce music within Pro Tools Mix and the master will go to a Post suite, where they will add voices and sfx using a Fairlight Prodigy and then they will squash the result with a multiband compressor and finally it will be cut on D1:

For fx and MAYBE mixdown purposes I have gotten a otari mtr 12 1/4" 2 track.

Its been near 5 years since I last worked at a studio with analog machines and it seems tape has changed a bit.

I checked for 499 as I want to hit it plus 9, but no store seemed to want to carry Quantegy, who carries Ampex( thats how long I been away)

I try to record and mix and I basically suck at it.
it must be some magic formula.

how do they get that big punchey in your face snare and kick sound?

are they eqing the hell out of it?
i thought eq was a no no - you're suppose to get the suond up front to avoid phase problems.
