Roland Rhodes patches
I have a friend who uses a Roland A-90 controller, which also has a few onboard sounds.
I heard one of it's Rhodes patches, called 'Stage Rhodes' and it sounds absolutely beautiful. Very warm, rich, just like '73.

Freezing
I'm brand new to this stuff, but I catch on quickly. I just bought a DIGI 001 and tried to install it, everything worked just fine, it was a breeze... until I tried to actually do something with PT LE, the whole screen froze up, it does this everytime, I can't even mess around with it for more than a minute before it freezes up.

Network Nuts?
So I decided my family's "spiffy" (read: sh*tty) Gateway Celeron 333 might be a good place to dump some audio data if I throw a big cheap 5200 RPM drive in it and pick up a few ethernet network cards and a crossover cable. My audio system is a 1.1G athlon, 512 SDRAM, 15G ATA sys drive, 45G audio drive, Matrox G400 DH video, ABIT KT7 MOBO.

Lowest priced Master class eq?
Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you have Avalon at around 3K and some others in that price range. Is that about the bottom line for a truely good eq that can be used for mastering. NO Digital please.

Digital patchbays
I need a digital patchbayfor a few reasons, obviously. Here is the situation. I want to put an A/D D/A in front of an Avalon VT747SP and rout it's signal through the digital patchbay with other digital devices. I could run my complete mix as well as some individual parts through my GoldChannel, for some of it's "finalizer" characteristics, the HEDD (when I get one) and the 747.

Tech support poll: Heroes and Villains
How about we start a list of our most and least favorite manufacturer's tech support?
I'll start by nominating Glyph in the hero department. Seems they will do almost anything to keep you up and running.
I've also had very pleasant interactions with Waves, TC, ATI, and Millennia.

Analog compression before digital? Driving you mad?
Analog compression before digital? I do it, because I am not totally knocked out with plugin compression so far. and I am pretty much doing what I used to do while recording to 2" tape..
I dont do it for "tape sound" (*see below)
Or to serve max level to my converters (*see below)
I do it to compress!
