Firewire and audio
I'm thinking of buying a firewire audio box to run with Logic on a G4 titanium - maybee the Apogee Track2 or the MOTU 896.
Has anyone used either of these boxes ?
Is there a great firwire box I'm missing out ?
Are there any pitfalls with using Firewire I should know about ?
Thanks.

Digtal Patchbay Question
Could somebody point me in the direction of a good digital patchbay which primarily consists of S/PDIF connections since I'm not "professional". Also could someone tell me why one couldn't use a 1/4 inch patchbaby and just purchase 1/4 to rca adapters?

G4 titanium - any good for audio ?
I'm thinking of moving over to a G4 titanium and I'm interested in hearing about how well they perform.
I'll be using Logic, Reason and a host of soft synths.
Any experiences you've had - good or bad - I'd like to hear about them. Thank you.

Room acoustics products / advice
I have the opportunity to move my studio equipment out of a small basement room into a "dedicated" second floor room in our oast house - if you don't know what one looks like, here's a link to a picture of a similar house!

More HEDD! (sorry - couldn't resist)
Just thought I'd jump on the HEDD bandwagon. After hearing Julian sing it's praises for the past few months, I found an original version for cheap on E-bay (no Tape knob, just Triode and Pentode).

Calfskin head bass drum mic?
I need a mic appropriate for a calfskin bass drum, 18 inch. Woefully short on dynamic mics. How do these sound compared to a condenser that can handle the spl? KM184 sounds great until it *clips*. Currently 2 inches above the beater. Keep in mind that the high-endsound of calfskin is much more subtle than the slapthwack of plastic heads. Both heads will be intact. Good mics for the job?

Mic Preamps in A&H GL3?
Does anyone know if the Allen & Heath GL3 has the same microphone preamps as the GS3? I like the sound of these (the GS3) myself, they seem to be warmer than the Mackie which is what I've compared it with. I've found the GL3 at a price I can't resist and any opinions would be very welcome.
Regards,
/Henrik
