TC Triple-C digital comp
Hi, I'm buying a compressor and I'm gonna use it for tracking of vocals and acoustic guitar. It will sit between my preamp and my DAW.
I think the TC Triple-C (mono version) sounds like a great deal considering it's on sale here in Sweden for $180 (list price in the reviews is stated to $700). It's got good reviews (see links below).

Opus, the Tascam pc optimization link is down
I was about to refresh myself on some stuff, but the link I grabbed from an old post is giving me a server error message. Has the site migrated, or are they just trying not to give tech support for products that aren't their own?

Mic tips for acoustic guitar?
I'm still not satisfied with the acoustic guitar sounds I've been able to capture. How do you guys get a nice "primary" guitar take, with some stereo presence to it, while avoiding boominess and phasing problems?
FYI, I'm doing a lot of R&B records where guys are asking for a very forward, present guitar sound... "like the Craig DAvid record" or "like the Babyface record".

Recording jazz big band live in 8 tracks - HELP!
:w: Tomorrrow night I'll be recording my son's nationally recognized HS jazz big band live in concert. I have 4 large diaphram condensers, 2 electrets, and 2 instrument dynamics. All will be mixed into a digital 8 track. The brass section has 6 sax's (1st row), 5 trombones (2nd), and 5 trumpets (back row). There is an electric bass and guitar, acoustic piano, and drums.
Digi002 soon?
I believe it was in Tape-Op mag that I read something about the Digi002 product coming out early next year. Supposedly, a firewire-based version of the Digi001. Digi, of course, NEVER talks about unreleased products (although nearly every other manufacturer does).
Anyone have more details?

Digi002 rumors?
I believe it was in Tape-Op that read something about the Digi002 being a firewire-based version of the 001 and coming out sometime very early next year. Digi is being typically mum about future products...
Anyone else heard something?

M149
I have a M149 and IMO it's a very good mic, although very expensive IMHO. :)
I read opinions every now and then about it on the forums, a while ago Jon (Atack) said the mic was losing shootout after shootout and Jules said he has two M149's and he uses them only on toms.
Now please don't misunderstand me, I respect Jon's and Jules' opinion very much although I disagree.

Quantegy is still with us!
Hi every one,
I had recently posed the qestion "Is Quantegy going out of business?", because it was rumored from a music branch in my area that this was the case!
However I have investigated a little further into the matter and have discovered that Quantegy is indeed NOT GOING OUT, but simply had one of thier NJ supply houses closeing, so the sale was from this outlet.

Pro Tools FREE (performance & plugins)
Does anyone have experience of "Pro Tools FREE"? I have read unfavourable reports of its playback of work recorded on Pro Tools LE, but surely the point is:
How does work recorded on "FREE" playback on
1) "Pro Tools FREE" itself
2) "Pro Tools LE" (most important).
