Basic wiring questions
I have a small studio with one live tracking room and one control room. We are in the process of adding a vocal booth. I have some outboard preamps I would like to have access to in both the vocal booth and the main tracking room. I need to be able to patch into the inputs of these pres. I am currently using a TRS 1/4" patchbaybut will be upgrading to a TT patchbay soon.

checking phase on drums mics
I've heard repeatedly that one must check the phase of drum mics in relation to one another to find phasing problems. How does one go about doing this? I've heard things about using a "phase clicker" but I don't know what that is. Is it a procedure that one would perform which could be done with the phase meter on the console; or do you need to have a phase clicker or do you need both?

environment
hi all,
great to find a forum not only talking bout soundblasters!
I just finished an environment to use my old Yamaha
promix as a controller for all audio objects (vol,
pan, mute, send 1-4). when you change screensets
logic automatically sends the viewable mixer faders to promix etc...it works great for me.

RME adi-8pro ADAT optical problem
Hi I just purchased this unit used and it doesn't seem to be working properly. The person I bought it from said they would take it back so thats not the problem. The problem is that I can't get a digital signal into or out of the adc. The ADAT optical seems to be broken. I should note that at no time has there ever been light coming out of the toslink cable.

Gas Cooker
Hi,
I am looking for a high quality Mic/Mic Preamp Combo for a very important recording early next year. As a microphone I will most likely go for a Brauner Valvet. I recently heard a lot of good things about the Ridge Farm Gas Cooker Preamp.
Anyone used it? Opinions?
Thanks and best to you.
