K&K CSM4 Mic
Does anyone know those mics? Small condensers for snare... are they good? Does it substitute the SM57? :)

Bosphorus/Istanbul cymbals
Hi there,
Does anyone have opinions about these cymbals? I have a chance to get some from the source and perhaps take advantage of the exchange rate. How do they compare to other brands?
Thanks,
ken

question for experianced studio owner/engineer
I have been recording profesionally for a couple years now. I made a big investment into converting my 2 1/2 car garage into a really nice studio. I have been fairly busy as of late with local bands (inluding my own)and have had great results with the exception of the last 2 bands.
Mixing Techniques for simple acoustic guitar vocal track
I have just recorded some simple vocal and acoustic guitar tracks on ADAT, and now in the process of mixdown on O2R.
Got 1 vocal track and 3 tracks of acoustic guitar (close miked 57,distant miked RODE NT and a D.I signal).
Would like to ask you pros out there suggestions on how to pan and mixdown the guitar and vocal tracks.
Sound card advice
I have been on a quest to find a sound card that works for my studio setup. I need ADAT lightpipe and sync, TOSLINK I/O, and eight channels of analog I/O. I have looked at the Aardvark 24 system. Any experience with their products? I'm using a dedicated PC. Thanks..

Neve Power Supply
I recently lucked into an old Neve broadcast board for very little cash. It has 8 channels (modules are stamped 83012), room for 8 more, and a master section.
The rub: no power supply came with it. Any idea where I can find one? it doesn't have to be original - an aftermarket is fine for me.
thanks

Studio Monitors ... Imperative?
How important is having a pair of nearfield monitors with my home setup? I'm thinking of the entry level powered Yamaha (MSP5?) But is this an important part of the production element, or can it be substituted by some good headphones, and a spectrum analyser?
Thank you in Advance

pre-terminated cable recommendation for studio?
Hi, I'm ready to recable my studio now and have some money saved up for it. I'm looking to buy preterminated cable in standard (non-custom) lengths.
I'd like something good that I won't outgrow; cable that's top quality which won't be the weak point in the path.
opinions about the rev7, anyone?
I am moving into a studio that still had one of those lying around. The one or two times I have put my hands on it, I thought it wasn't all too practical, but maybe I was too inexperienced back then (i knew nothing, pretty much).

Tascam Tsr8 8 track 1/2" analog: thumbs up or down?
Like the subject says. Do you like it, or should I look for something better? How much would you pay for one in "good" condition?
