Acoustic wall treatment or portable vocal booth (i.e. Auralex MaxWall)?
Forums
I would like to start recording vocals (just for fun/hobby) and I want to get the best sound possible. The instrumental tracks have already been mixed, I just need to add vocals. I've read some of the threads here, and I know that preventing unwanted reflections is ONE of the key elements paramount to a good recording.

JBL LSR305 or KRK Rokit 5 G3? What is your opinion?
Forums
Hi,
I am looking for good price and good quality studio monitors for mixing, recording, composing.
I found kind of interedting and cheap stuff.
So, it's JBL LSR305 and KRK Rokit 5 G3.
I heard a lot of good words about KRK monitors, but I was kind of disappointed. The sound quality was much better on JBL monitors.
RMEadi-8 qs 8 channel HD ADDA converters.

SOLD
RME ADI-8 QS $1200 USD each.
Beautiful converters that are top on my list. Choice for hybrid. These have the lowest latency I know. Combined with the RME PCIe AES 32, they are stellar.

PreSonus Audiobox USB vs. . Firestudio Mobile? AND USB vs. . Firewire for Recording?
Forums
Hey guys. I got myself a Firestudio Mobile a couple of years ago but now I'm set to upgrade my computer to something which won't have inputs for Firewire or even the Express card I've been using on my current computer for recording. It will have USB 3.0 inputs.
The loudness wars killing our reputation

I had a band in to make their ep in my studio in november last year. As I run a little one-man-studio in my sparetime I try to work with bands as smoothly and nicely I can while doing all the stuff myself. I depend on them to get the feeling of coming in having a great time while recording some music so that they might spread the word around of my little studio.

Hi To All / Some Questions About Mixdown
Forums
Hi to all, I'm Jak. I didn't find an appropriate section where I could introduce myself, so I'm doing it here ahaha
I'm not a mastering engineer, alas! I've just followed some courses for a fee, but I have experimented for 1 year and 2 months and now I'm here, constrained to ask help, because I can't reach my goals. I'm honest, I've tried everything.

Classical vocal sextet miking?
Forums
Hi,
I've got a session tomorrow and Saturday with a classical vocal sextet and am looking for advice in terms of Micing them.
The mics I'll be using are a pair of RODE NT5's small diaphragm condensers and pair of Audio-Technica AT4040 large diaphragm condensers. The venue is a small church.

Recording piano. Which position is best?
Forums
Hi, I'm relatively new to recording and producing and need a few opinions on setting up a mic (or mics) to record piano. I've done a few experiments recently moving the mic around inside the piano and recording myself play. Have a listen to them below and let me know which recording you think is best. Cheers
