dbx 161-Mods
Working on two of these beauties right now. Nice design, nice PCB layout. The customer wants new caps, a few power supply repairs and to add Jensen input and output transformers to these normally unbalanced units. The 160 (the famous unit) uses the same PCB as the 161 but a has a solid state balanced input and output circuit populated. This mod, IMO, is way better ;)

Blogs and other personalized add-ons for RO Members
Forums
For years I've been toying with the idea of expanding our community software. I'd like to give members more freedom to have their own blogs, self promote outside the forum. There finally might be a solution to do this so I'm wondering how many people would find this interesting?
Safety first
Forums
Hi All,
Hope you're all staying safe in these new unknown times. Pay attention to what actual professionals tell you, stay safe. My wife and I are trying to deal with all this and a house move (again, I know). New house is in a lovely quiet country village. I am so looking forward to the quiet and more room. Yes, I will have a bigger studio area again.

iZotope Nuetron 3 Elements not hearing audio
Forums
This plugin is supposed to listen to an audio clip (like Melodyne does) and make corrections based on that. But it just stays on the "Waiting for you to play audio..." screen. I apologize if this is the wrong place to post but I didn't see any other forum for, let's say plugins/software. I can't find an iZotope owned forum either.

Roland RE 301
Well here is unit that may sound great, but the build quality is really not ideal. This monster ate a lot of time, but with a complete re-caping and few transistor replacements and relaped heads its looking up for this classic machine.

Klark Teknik DN 34
I also had a chance work on this finely built piece. This unit is very cool for making subtle delay/modulation effects. The unit on the bench had a blown output amplifier. I added a opa627 with a slight modification and she is working again.

Altec 436A Resurrection.
Brought back to life, the oscilloscope pic show how it arrived (that was its output with a sign wave on its input). I recapped the unit, added threshold, attack and release controls. Now its is a pretty amazing box.
