Voice mastering
Hi,
I want to make professional voice recordings for radio and TV commercials.
Can somebody please advise me if an AKG 3000 mic and a ROLAND VS2400CD is sufficient and a good choice in order to do this. Or is there better cheaper alternatives for this.
Thanks.

2 track Editor for the Mac
it seems all we have for the mac is spark or peak, I'm not a fan of peak and I hate spark, is there anything out there that sounds right ? something like Samplitude would be nice...

Hack Mastering
I am a musician just getting started tracking and mixing in Sonar 2.2.
Once I have songs ready I intend on doing one of two things based on my success:
1. Take tracks to pro studio and get help mixing down and mastering (not first choice.)
2. Mixing tracks down and taking to pro studio for mastering (this IS my first choice.)
So here are my questions:

Regular clients, an advantage?
:) Hello! If you have regular clients, does their work get streamlined somewhat?
You know their sound, common EQ corrections, balances. If that is true, is it a good idea, once you have found an ME you like, to continue your business with them?
Sort of like the family doctor, or lawyer.

commercial CD sound
I have been stuggling with this issue for a while so I thought I'd toss it out there and let the experts have a go at it.
When I record instruments it try to capture exactly what I'm hearing. Then when I mix I try to fit them in there own space so there not stepping all over each other, using small amounts of Eq/comp/etc.

Stereo Image vs. . skull acoustics?
I didn't really know whether to put this in Mastering or Mixing, then I decided it had more to do with touching up rather than initial construction.

The Mysteries of the Quiet CDR
Could someone please explain why a CDR that I burn on my PC, even with heavy limiting, always sounds a few dB quieter than a commercial release? Will a Masterlink burn a commercial level CD?

Mastering prices
Well, here's the situation. I'm doing a home studio recording. Nothing too fancy. But still going to be about 15+ tracks. Something I can look back on in 10 years and go... cool. I'm trying to be adaquitely prepared for mastering down the road later this year. I'm looking for reasonable work and reasonable prices, since I'm not a pro musician going out to make money off this... yet.
