Mastering A Live Set...
Hello!
I recently recorded and mixed a live jazz set...Electric/Acoustic guitar, various saxes, bass, and drums. So there were only four peices playing at a time.

Opinions on EQ?
Okay guys -
I'm in the process of taking a plunge on a good outboard EQ. You'll see what my budget is by the choices I've listed below. I'm familiar with all of them except the CRane Song.
So, here's the list (and some comments):
Millennia NSEQ 2 - I like the twin topology architecture and I do like it's smoothness overall

Nice article on the loudness wars
Narowing the Stereo image
I am currently mastering a duo -acoustic guitar and violin- of modern argentine music. The mix sounds great, but I need to slightly narrow the stereo image as the instruments are spread too much apart (left-right). Hopefully adding some reverb is part of the mastering process (the mix is almost dry) and could be used as an ingredient in my quest.

for example?
I have been studying sound recording for about 3 months. And this forum has been extremely helpful is pointing me in a possitive direction. I was just wondering if a few of you could post pre-mastered songs and then a mastered version of the same song. I want to have a chance to test my ears and figure out what a mastered recording should sound like. as always thanks for any help.

problem with reading indexes on mastered CD
I just finished mastering my first 10 dialogue CDs. They sound flat but LOUD just as requested by the customer. (yuck) Anyway, I give them the CDs burned with Toast at 2x on my MAC G4. Then all hell breaks loose, the CDs only read to the eighth track on the customer's little ghetto blasters. The rest of the entire recording continues after, but on the same index.

How do I get the best sound possible in a 64kbps stream?
Here is a link to a Radio Imaging Demo I slapped together this week. Its the 2nd Demo, 320kbps 44.1khz Stereo MP3. I have tried lower quality MP3's but it sounds really flat.

How do I get the fullness out of the stream like his demos?

Standard RMS levels when mastering for DVD?
(I've also posted this in the Audio Video Film section of the forum. I wasn't sure which would be better. In there or in here, Mastering. Sorry ahead of time for the double post!)
So, I'm finishing up the audio for my friends film which is about to be released on DVD and I have a few questions. If any of you could help it'd be great.
