Hi,
everybody got his own Mastering style...
Mind to share your very own style of Mastering step with us?

Master question
Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem making my masters a bit louder. I know, I hate doing that, but some of my clients are asking me to master their material a bit louder than I'm used to, the thing that I didn't realize is that I don't know how to. Every time I try to compress or limit more my mix it distorts or sound overcompressed, so I'm clueless in this matter, can you help me out?

What is the theroy behind the "adaptive limiter"?
I've been checking a lot of websites and references and haven't found enough information on the subject. I guess the limiter is normally used under mastering phase. Can anyone explain or direct me to some website? Cheers!
Roll Off Frequencies
Hi, I'm a producer making a style of music smilar to drum and bass and i was wondering what frequency i should be rolling my basses off.
When i roll of at 50hz i get an increase in headroom which makes a better mix
but
when i roll of at 30Hz my Yamaha msp5's show a noticable difference in the bottom end, it sounds more full.

Mastering Power Amplifiers
I thought it might be a good topic to discuss amps.
I know a lot of guys use Bryston, Rotel and McIntosh. But what else is out there? What are the advantages of different brands in comparison to the others? What are studios like Sterling Sound using?
Go into detail on your opinions on power amplifiers, if you would.

So excited (new hardware)...
I'm so tweaked!
I just won a Manley Vari-Mu on Ebay for a song!
I'm so excited I think I just wet myself a little... ;-)
I got it from a mastering house in LA (not sure which one, but they were also selling a Weiss mastering desk so I'm sure they are legit...)
Just thought I'd share. (y)

Loud masters
Hi, I was wondering what you all thought, I personally like to make my masters at a certain level, not as loud as many albums have been mastered lately, because I like to keep the dynamics intact, so I take the master mix to aproximately -10dB RMS, but this is kinda quiet compared to some of the newest rock albums in which most songs are taken to levels that can reach -5dB RMS, of course dynami
