Practice Piece?

Good afternoon

I have to do a masteringjob of a nice piece of Rock Musik, and i have some Problems to
to restrain the high frequencies of Cymbals and Gitarre.

The goal is a "relative" hot master because the band let make a secound testmaster
at a "hardcore 0 db" masteringstudio in good old vienna.

dithering explained

Ok, i am about to prove how novice i am. Several of the programs and hardware i've come across cam process audio at higher sampling rates and bit rates than CD format 44.1/16 bit. I have recorded songs at 48k, and 24 bit, only to find myself unable to "bounce" it back to 44.1/16 bit.
Is dithering the process i'm out of touch on?
Confused, and thanks for any help.

finalizer + sending mastered Cds to manufacturer

Hi, I have a huge workload, low budget project involving 53 CDs of dialogue. and "incidental' music for kids. I need to get it out quick and the budget isn't high so I am planning to buy a Tc electronics finalizer and do everything myself. I know DYI is not a great idea for music, but for this many discs and the nature of the material, volume and clairty are most important.

Mastering, can I do it? Time, budget, limits, I need help!

So yeah, I've been RECORDING my band for a few weeks now, putting in time here and there. We are finish up vocals, unfortunately, we wanted to have our CD release show on May 12th (They will be pressed at discmakers.com, 1000 copies). We couldnt afford to professionally record it, because the average listener won't complain about slight quality issues, if the music is good, it is good.
