To master, what do you want from me?

Forums

I write and perform songs for myself and an acoustic oriented band. Vocals x 3-4 (3 male, 1 female), acoustic guitar, electric bass, fiddle, keys, hand percussion and sometimes drums.
I would like to accomplish the tracking (Pro-Tools 002rack) and then turn it over to those who's skill is the mixing and mastering of the sound.

S1 Shuffler Help

Forums

I've experimented with the WavesS1-Shuffler and found it useful, but I'm far from using it optimally. I've found using it on some of the fundamental frequencies and what appear to be bass harmonics to provide the best results. I'm still failing to see the big picture though and would appreciate any advice on what frequencies to use it on.

Thanks

Harmonics

Forums

I read somewhere that if you want to make an instrument or sound stand out in a mix. You should try to boost the harmonics of the fundamental frequency not the fundamental frequency itself. if this is true and you know the fundamental frequency your EQ'ing how do you find out the frequencies of the harmonics you need to boost.
