line vs. . mic splitters and Impedance
Hi all,
I'm slowly getting my head a tiny bit around the impedance thing.
Unfortunately my funds cannot always follow my simple understanding.
For examle:
The palmer pms-02 and pls-02 are both passive splitters, the mic one has an input impedance of 200Ohm and the line one of 600Ohms.

4x12 micing
would there be a difference in tone if i disconected the other 3 speakers on my cab? with them all on doesnt if mean that the other speakers are leaking frequencies that i dont want on to my track? i have done every thing to get it to sound as good as i can (i am not displeased with my results but it could get better).

beyerdynamic md-201 vs. . Shure sm-57/ whats with Shure beta
which do you think is better backed by technical explination and cherry on top being your ears opinion.
also can anyone explain to me the benefits of the beta releases over the standard mics? also, tech followed by audible difference plzz

Dynamic mic for a Sebatron
Hello.:D I own a Sebatron THORAX and a newly acquired vmp-2000e.I love them both very dearly and track all my instruments and vocals through them. Was wondering if there were any other recommended dynamic microphones for recording male rock/folk vocals specifically to match up with these units. Any suggestions?

Really good deal (today only) on a GREAT microphone preamp.
I just literally got a really good deal at GC. They are selling today only (Labor Day 2006) the Blue Robbie Microphone Preamp for $399.00 plus tax. It's normal list is $1299 and GC and everyone else has been selling it for $999.00. I auditioned one of these about 2.5 years ago and really fell in love with the sound but did not like the price.
got the mic, SONAR, m-audio interface, monitors ..WHAT ELSE
aight i got a AKG Perception 200, running SONAR 4, M-audio interface firewire solo, KRK rp-5 monitors.
-everything sounds good, but am not getting that professional feel to it. i know i won't get a professional sound...but damn with all this equipment I have to come close to something people could vibe to...
2 Stereo mic techniques - Can you hear the difference?
Hi
I recorded some music with an organist (& myself on trumpet) in a church recently and I thought it would be interesting to use 2 different stereo mic techniques to see how they differ and which sound I prefer.
Karma Microphones
Has anyone tried these out yet? Their mini condenser are only 5 bucks. I have a friend that picked up one of their ribbons, and it sounds really good. Their K55 Tube Condenser is on sale right now, was thinking about getting a stereo pair.
