hi-hat mic?
which out of these 2 would make a better HI-HAT mic.
MXL603s or KSM27
can a large condenser like the ksm27 be used for a hi-hat mic ? I'm hoping so, so that way i can use the ksm27 on the hats and just pick up another 603s to use as overheads rather than picking up another ksm27 for an overhead which is much more money, and use the 603 on the hats

Need lead on good source for Schoeps mics
Hi. I'm new to Recording.org. I'm looking for a good source (new or used) for Schoeps mics; specifically, the CMC64 US stereo set. I'm a jazz trumpet player interested in doing home recording. Many thanks. Please feel free to respond offline, as well: kays@iplawfirm.org.

DIY Mic Pad/Signal Attenuator
Hello!
I was wondering if there's a good resourse anyone might know of to make these myself. ProCo sells some, but I'm sure it's just a few XLR connectors with resistors inside that I could make myself for far cheaper. I just need to know what I need and how to wire/solder it up.

Mics over DI?
Does anyone here track guitar direct?
I have some space issues and am curious to know if it is worth doing.
I hear there are some great sounds with the latest DSP.
Thanks for your replies.

Opinions on Shure Drum Mic Package
Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with the Shure's 6 drum mic package deal. What did you think of the sound? I would like to get some good mics for recording drums at a price that isn't too great ($300-$400). I have an SM57, a 58 and a pretty nice condenser mic (though the name escapes me). Ideas? Thanks for the help.

Audio-Technica large diaphragm condenser mics
Ok, before I launch into my question, I want to let you guys know that I did read the AT4033 vs AT4040 thread, and tried to find as much info that was already posted before starting a new thread... I don't want to waste time re-debating, but I have a specific question.
Blue Red type B mic
Anyone used one of these? I can't find much info on it.
It is a mic blue has started making that allows the use of its own capsules as well as many vintage lollipop capsules.
Seems like this would be a pretty cool mic. But i am not brave enough to try it without opnions.
So if anyone has used one of these let me know

Need a cheap preamp for talk-back mic
I've got a Tascam FW-1082 with the headphone output going into a Samson C-Que headphone distribution amp. I want to add a talk-back mic without sacrificing any of the board's 8 inputs.
The C-Que has an additional inject input that mixes with the stereo outs from the board. I'd like to add a preamp and mic there. I tried it with one of my other preamps and it works well.

And today i was with Markus Wargh and try out some distance,
