Sanken Mics...
Just got a new pair of mics- Sanken CU-31. I got a great deal on a pair of them (consecutive serial numbers and I got them for more than $1000 off the pair). I just used them for the first time and I must say I'm absolutely thrilled with them.

Mic Placement for Choral Recording
I've never attempted to record a choir of any size. All of my experience is in the studio with no more than 3 vocalists.
Where would you place mics for a choir of 30-50 pre-teens. I've been asked to record a Christmas CD for a Junior Highschool Choir.

Main pair + supporting mics, how to set up gain for them?
Hallo
Dynamic Mics
Hey Guys,
The Mic i've been using for live applications just doesn't seem to be cutting it. I primarly use an AT814a and also a Shure SM57.
The problem with the 57 is it picks up too much poping of P's and if i stand back that just creates other problems.
The AT814 seems too muffled and dirty, maybe its just the sound guy running the board...

ART - Digital MPA Tube Microphone Preamp
I am looking to add another 2 inputs to my Tascam FW-1884 and wanted something that would warm up my vocals and maybe even my guitar tone with an SM-57. I found this on Sam Ash and can hook the sp/dif up to my Tascam I believe. What do you guys think of this particular unit?

Setup for recording voice lessons? (mic, digital recorder?)
I'm looking to help my voice teacher improve her lesson recording setup. Right now she records lessons with a Sony cassette walkman with the built-in mic and the results are poor quality and inconvenient (I've actually dubbed lessons to my DAW for playback from an ipod).
Mics for live recording of choir?
Hello all,
I am a member of a university choir in Sweden and also a member of the "recording group" of the choir. The recording group is going to buy new recording equipment to the choir and have finally almost made up its mind on what to buy. The only thing we are really unsure of are the mics.

Choice is down to Two LDC mics
The BLUE Baby Bottle and an ADK A-51TC Tube condenser mics.
I think either would be pretty sweet. My only thought right now is that the ADK being a tube mic paired with my Brick pre's (also tube) may be just a little too colorful to effective on a variety of sources.

Just wondering if anyone has expereience with this. I'm not sure weather to go with a coincident pair or a spaced pair. I don't have the ability to do a MS techniques.
Your help would be much appreciated.

Anyone using the Blue Snowball Mic?
If so, is the input signal loud like a mic/ pre-amp combo or more like a mic without a pre-amp?
