I've been told to save my money for these mics but I can't find much info about them on the web or even here on RO.

Anyone got the scoops?

A fair amount of my work is recording live concerts - usually acoustic music - not rockish things. I have a few SM58s - sometimes they do the job, sometimes they leave a lot to be desired.

I'm now a happy owner of a pair of the Microtech Gefells M270, but I'm desperately dissappoited in my recording skills while using them.

Well, it was my first production when I was recording with omnis, but still I have my ears, but they let me down.

I've decided to get a small, budget Mic/Line pre-amp to connect to my Audiophile 2496. I'm currently considering 2 candidates:

- Behringer Tube Mic 200
- M-Audio Audio Buddy

Seems they have approximately the same specs, except that the Behringer has a tube whereas the Audio Buddy is solid state.

Opinions? Experiences?

Im using a Shure SM57 to record my guitar amp, and I have a SM58 to record vocals. I want to go with a budget condenser mic because, I'm told, theyre much better at recording.

My ex girlfriend sold my ol Sure Ksm27 and i never had a chance to use it. its in a range of 299.. i saw an AKG c3000b for the same price. I ask you... . . Which is better?
I also like the way the Blue mics look . ... ... this also has me wondering . ... should i go ahead and save a few more hundred and try one of the blue bad boys?

Is there some formula to calculate the adjustment of delay necessary between the main pair and spot microphones, i.e. x milliseconds of delay for y distance?

I believe the other technique is to clap hands in front the spot microphone and use the wave editor to line up the spike between the mains and the spot. Is this correct?

Now that i just purchased my FW 1804 I thought to my self that the sounds I'm getting could be better. ( this could be because i was listening to how good the guitars and vocals sound on the JOHN MAYER track) I know this could have been done by mastering ..

I have a real interest in building my own microphones as an experiment. Does anyone any websites or information in general that might help me.
