Has anyone used the Samson CO1U USB condenser mic?
ARGH! I just discovered this condenser mic that connects DIRECTLY via USB...weeks after spending way too much on a firewire audio interface, microphones, etc. It looks as though this might have met my needs...for a fraction of the cost...I can't imagine that the sound is comparable...but who knows? Has anyone bought and used this thing?

Shure Beta 91 boundry mic
Hi everyone,
Was just curious on people's opinions on the Shure Beta 91 for a kick drum mic. I currently use an Audix D6 on a vintage Ludwig 20" kick drum... where I have a smaller drum do you think the Shure would give me a better sound?
Tom

Takstar PCM-6100 Microphone
My need microphone in-flow is much greater than my regualr income (if you know what I mean) so after browsing on eBay I found a microphone called the Takstar PCM-6100. Now don't get me wrong, this microphone was made in China and is very cheap however it is a great microphone. It is a condensor mic and made from good metal casing.

RODE NTK mic preamp
I have been using my Mackie VLZ mixer for a few years and would like to get a preamp that is a step up from that...My price range is ~500. There are many mic preamps in this range (grace 101, Summit 2BA-221, "The Brick", RNP etc.) and some of them are tube...Since my main vocal mic is a RODE NTK should I avoid a tube pre and go with something cleaner to bring out the NTK sound?

Micing 4x12 cabs
I am having a hard time getting a good distortion recording out of my 4x12 cab. It seems like there is to much extra noise I cant get that nice warm, thick, defined distortion that you hear on pro recordings. I am using a sm57 with octopre preamps. Does anybody have any advice how to clean up my dist. problem. Can I clean it up with better eqin of compression.? Help :D

Groove Tubes GT-55 vs. . RODE NT1000
Hi all,
New to forum. Am songwriter/musician with home studio.
Looking at a large diaphram studio condenser mic for $300. Any feedback on Groove Tubes GT-55 versus RODE NT-1000?
My preamp is a PreSonus Eureka.
Main use for this mic will be vocals.
Thanks,
Aaron
