Cello and Piano Mics for small room
I am recording cello and piano in a small-medium size room that is too bright and live acoustically - I can't really treat it except to put a blanket under the piano.
What mic setup would you all recommend? I always used X-Y stereo on 2 small diaphragm cardoid mics and a large diaphram cardoid as spot mic up close (6 inches).

Testing Placement of RODE NT5's with the Guzheng (Chinese Zither)
Just starting using a pair of RODE NT5's with directional capsules to record the guzheng. After some experimenting with positions, I've settled on both overhead, one on each side, about 3ft from the instrument. I've added no effects to this recording other than a compressor. What do you think?
Anyone own a Lauten LA-320 ?
Hi !
There is a price reduction on Lauten mics and my GAS is very tempted.
It could be my first tube mic. There is a lot of videos online but I'd like to have the opinion of an owner.
Anyone of you has one ? How does it compare to other known mics ?
Thanks !

Audio Quality - Behringer C-3 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
Hey!
I record with a Behringer C-3 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone at home. And I don't have an acoustically treated space to record in - I do the maximum amount of soundproofing I can possibly do at home.
Here's a sample of what the mixes currently sound like:

Which mics for home piano recording?
I have free access to these mics (in matched pairs): Neumann M49, Neumann M149, Neumann M250, Neumann M269, Coles 4038 and RCA MI 6203. Which ones would you choose to record a Yamaha C7? My mixing console only allows for 6 simultaneous mono mics. Thanx!

New counterfeit Chinese Mics
Whatever your opinion on these, it's always useful to be able to recognise them and know what they're really like.
I always but them, when I spot them to have a look. Some new ones - with rather odd performance this time.
Decide for yourselves, and beware on Ebay - I sense these are the new SM57 and 58 flood the market types.

Pick click on voice mic
Recording instruction video where teacher is talking and demonstrating on guitar. Is there any way to eliminate pick click, that is, the sound of the guitar pick plucking on the strings? It is very loud on the voice mic, and makes the sound awful.
