I am in the dilemma of upgrading from Pro Tools 7.4HD to 10HD. We currently have 2 rooms running 7.4 with HD2 accel on windows xp machines with the legacy 192's and sync I/O's. I would like to upgrade to 10HD with our existing hardware running on osx Lion systems.

I just upgraded to Sonar x1 producer expanded and am wonder what files should go on which drives? I have the ssd c drive for the OS, programs and all vst dll. files, and two 1tb caviar blacks drive D and E. D is for the audio and E for sample libraries. Can someone give me a rundown on how to install specific Sonar folders to the right destination for optimal performance?

I just got reaper and am feeling slightly overwhelmed by it all. I haveconnected my midi keyboard using the M-Audio 1x1 and installed the Asio4allthing that everyone talks about having (you can tell I have no idea what I'mtalking about!) and I have no sound. I tried assigning the reasynth the recordtrack and I still get nothing.

I want to add some string orchestra to my recorded tracks. Is there any software out there that is similar and easy to use like "Band In A Box" but with excellent sound quality good enough for recordings?

Anyone know why in any of the daws i've used (DP, PTle, Audition2.0, Reaper, Ableton) it's not possible to adjust 2 different pluginsat the same time. For instance an eq feeding a compressor? i do this in a live/analog setting where say i may want to eq the say 10k on a vocal while adjusting the attack on an in series compressor.

I'm getting a second UA LA-2A for choirs and harmonies and was wondering if someone has linked them "in order to achieve the same amount of gain reduction from each of the two units to maintain stereo imaging". When would this be so important?

What is the best way to do it?

I want to make a wave file of my own locations to be used in the SIR plugin .

A classical music recording newcomer here!

I have recently had my Teac 80-8 serviced, but have a problem. When I record onto tracks 4,5,6 and 7 the VU meter shows theres a signal being recorded, but the those tracks are empty on playback. I have removed the front cover to see if any circuit boards have come loose, but theyre ok.
Any ideas chaps?

The room is really live with some wild hot spots. I did much better this year, I'm pretty happy with my recording but would love some help to be better on the sibilance now. These sss are impossible to take out. I could hear them live and know this is a common thing for choirs but I'm sure you guys can do better here. I ran a de-esser but can I do better. What tools do you use?
